I learned of Bill's death a few minutes ago from a mutual friend, Kate Mattes. I am truly grieving: Bill was a wonderful man, a superb writer, and a cherished friend for decades. Vicki, dear, my deepest sympathies.

My condolences to the family of William Tapply. I've read every mystery he's ever written, and I feel like I've lost an old family friend. This is the first time I've visited the website, and after reading his Boston Globe obit, as well as this website, I'm heartened to know that he was a kind and decent human being who brought pleasure to thousands of readers.
