My wife said, "I found a new author for you to enjoy". Bitch Creek was great. Raised in Maine most of my life it brought back many great memories. I am now about to finish Gray Ghost and loved it too. I did notice Sheepscot must have moved since I was there. I checked the map and it still shows SE of Augusta near Wiscasset and Newcastle. I can't wait for the next one to come out.

Really loved Grey Ghost. Hope to see a new Stoney Calhoun novel sooner than every three years!! What a great, deep character (and supporting cast). Thanks for the many years of great novels (sorry.I've read all the novels but none of the fishing books!!). Regards from a loyal long time fan!!

Dear Mr. Tapply, I have recently had the pleasure of reading both Bitch Creek and Gray Ghost. I had never read any of your publishing's before. Shame on me. I went to your website and I was pleased to find your other publishing's listed there along with those of your wife. I read in your Author's note that you were doing a third collaboration with Philip R. Craig. It brought a smile to my face. Your mysteries and Mr. Craig's both surround the love of fishing and the great outdoors. Stone and J.W. Jackson could be brothers. I can picture you and Mr. Craig out fishing on Martha's Vineyard together conjuring up ideas for another mystery story. The intent of this email was to find out when the next Stoney Calhoun book is coming out. We need to know what is going to happen with Stoney and Kate's relationship. Is Dr. Sam Surry still still in the picture? Will we ever find out about Stoney's past? These questions need to be answered before you stop your series with Calhoun. I guess you know that though. Here is a thought for your next Stoney Calhoun novel. Calhoun's friend Lyle, unbeknown-st to anyone had a twin brother, Kyle, who was living on the west coast. Kyle finds out about Lyle's death and believes Stoney is the reason his brother died. Kyle, a computer whiz, secretly delves into Stone's past. Kyle travels to New Hampshire and attempts to destroy Stone's business, relationship with Kate, and makes the Sheriff believe that Stone's mental state is becoming unstable. Kyle steals a body from a morgue, dumps it in the woods near Stone's home and manufactures evidence to make it look like Stone killed the person. Many endings can happen with this scenario. Stone kills Kyle. Stone and Kyle end up friends. Kyle is killed by the Sheriff. Dr. Surry saves Stone's butt by discrediting the evidence found at the scene. Who knows where it could go? Keeping writing. I'll keep reading. Thank You! Paul Beals

I'm ready for the next Stoney Calhoun novel. I love this character. Please don't make everyone wait another three years. You have a winner with Stoney!

I'm back after an all-nighter reading Gray Ghost. What a great story! Comments from January still stand.these novels need to be better known. This was a great read - I especially enjoyed the hints and peeks into the character's unknown past and look forward to this series continuing so we learn a little more as he unravels his pre-lightening period.
