Thank you so much for Invisible Writing. I'm a stalled writer and have been for some time. I've read quite a bit of 'advice' to writers, but yours is down to earth and realistic. Thank you for the generosity of making the article available online. Up till now I haven't read any of your novel - THAT IS ABOUT TO CHANGE :) Your dad sounds like a wonderful character and what a mentor to have as a budding writer.

Mr. Tapply, Please consider travelling down south to Columbia, SC for their 2008 Book Festival - see their website for more info and contacts (scbookfestival). The Saluda River Chapter of Trout Unlimited in Columbia would also enjoy having you in Columbia and would love to have you consider a speaking or other special engagement with them to be timed while you are in town; or, at another date if you can't make a book festival. Please contact me to discuss a TU event if you are interested, and also visit their website for more info (saludatu). Your outdoor writings would add a needed element to the SC Book Festival, where your mystery writings would fit in well with the current emphasis on that genre. And a trip to Columbia for both the festival and a TU engagament could maximize the benefit for all, including some possible expense sharing. Either your outdoor or mystery writings, or your teaching career, would be enough for most to feel successful in their life; but, you have managed to excel in all three with enjoyable, quality work. Like Mr. Craig, you have built a great legacy; and, I bet there are even more who will 'discover' your writings in both genres and do like I have done for the past few years in catching up. What fun that has been.

I just finshed your new book "Gray Ghost" and enjoyed it greatly. Being a fly fisherman myself, I enjoyed the details about fly fishing that are provided.

I just found out of Philip Craig's passing, which was on my birthdate. I was saddened, I have read every one of Jw's vineyard mysteries and will definitely get the Stalker and will look for the next ones that will come out in time. My condolences to his family.

I love the Stoney Calhoun books! Part of me is dying to know what secrets his past life holds, but I'm afraid the knowledge would ruin his Maine woods life! Please keep 'em coming.
