I started reading Bill's Brady Coyne books decades ago, almost at the beginning, and anxiously awaited every new volume. He never disappointed and, although I never met him, you could get a sense of the man through his writing. He was special. We have lost some incredible authors in the mystery genre of late, Parker, McBain, Westlake, Spillane, Kaminsky, Arthur Lyons et al. Bill was among the best. He will be missed for his stories and as a man who knew the important things in life. May his memory live on and his words be appreciated by future generations.

You have been blessed to have been in his family. This person could have written 200+ books, but fishing just took up too much time. At least the priorities were correct. Your loss; our loss. What more can I say?

Sadly I didn't discover Mr. Tappley until after he died, but I am continuously mesmerized by his books.

I was saddened beyond belief upon hearing of Bill's passage. The first time I heard was in October of last year.and I was shocked to inaction. Now finally, I can say what I felt about Bill. I have enjoyed every novel of his. I attended one of the Chickadee workshops and must say that the kindness, insight and help that both he and Vicki provided went far above and beyond what I expected. He and Vicki were and are truly nice folks.

With great sadness I just heard of Mr. Tapply's passing. I haven't read all of his books yet, but I am working on it. Also, am a big fan of his friend, Philip Craig and very much enjoyed the books that they co-authored. They both will be greatly missed.
