I just read One-Way Ticket and Third Strike. When I finished the latter I saw Philip Craig was dead. I feel bereft of the lovely family of J.W., Zee, Joshua, and Diana.

Dear Mr Tapply, my husband and I are happily re-reading your Brady Coyne series chronologically and have just come across the part in "the 7th enemy" where Brady pulls up the surveyor stakes in the lovely natural area of The Swamp". It reminded us of a day in the Pacific Northwest when we lived out there, and discovered a wonderful spot on a little woodland brook, complete with plunging waterfall, big pines etc. We had a sedate picnic there with our kids and then discovered surveyor stakes all over the woods and brook. We 4 ran around for quite a while not pulling up the stakes, but stamping them about 4 inches down and then tramping earth over all sight of them. As you say, "it felt good" (and still does, 20 years later!) Thanks for such a wonderful series and we hope like one other person who wrote, that maybe you can continue the JW/Brady duets. Both of you, terrific writers! Thanks!

I just finished one of Philip Craig's books, I think I've read most of them, and decided to visit his web site. I was saddened to learn of his death. He was my favorite local mystery writer. I'll now look to your books when I need a good mystery!
